Humanitarian & Development Bibliography
This Global Humanitarian and Development Bibliography is an invaluable resource for both the Australian Emergency Management and the Global Disaster Risk Management Practitioner. The Bibliography is updated every three months, with the latest edition covering the period July-September 2023. It includes (for example) references to material produced by:
- Humanitarian specialist agencies such as ACAPS and FEWS-NET
- Key publications such as the Sphere Handbook, and SAEDS Handbook, as well as material produced by Practical Action Publishing
- A selection of items produced by key UN agencies and major NGOs
- Research material by Australian (eg HAG, RDI Network) and overseas (eg ALNAP, CRED, HPN/ODI, ELRHA) agencies
- Australian disaster material, particularly relating to bushfires, this including psycho-social articles
- Some key Climate Change and Covid-19 articles
The Project Management Cycle (PMC) diagram is included in this blog. This highlights the genesis of this Bibliography, namely Learning and Sharing Lessons from both the Implementation Stage, and Post-Implementation Stage. No need to to re-invent the wheel!
DownloadThis Bibliography is also one of the key references cited in the TorqAid Toolkit (see link below), which again is updated every three months.
DownloadThe Bibliography is complemented by the Humanitarian and Development Agency Directory which can be accessed from:
The bibliography is also a key resource used in TorqAid Participatory Disaster Risk Management (PDRM) training program. See the link to the 2023 PDRM training program.
