. Most of the islands of the western chain are classified as high islands, because they have been raised well above sea level by repeated volcanic activity.Some are still active volcanoes. Although this may have been a small event this is a trend in this region and a massive reason to continue to move toward improvement in response, all the while exposing areas needing to be addressed.
