i can only write from what i am really learning about in this course and forums learning from the other participators.
From what i understand so far is that in Fast onset response focuses very quickly in the immediate needs such as the evacuation and search and rescue of people effected in the impacted communities and establishing and prioritizing the services that would stabilize the event as much as possible, in preparing for emergency response. Where as slow onsets tend to focus more on the emergency response and recovery stages and would be more prepared in disasters.
Both use common practices to empower people with the right tools and resources to be more effective in future events
Seeing that the media too can have a big role in things,issuing earlier warnings, evacs etc and raising awareness where needed.
