ANZDMC
Chris presented a (virtual) paper at the Australian & New Zealand Disasater & Emergency Management Conference (ANZDMC), held on the Gold Coast in early September 2021.
The topic of his presentation was ‘ A new diagrammatic framework for illustrating and explaining disaster management‘. This focussed around four key illustrations, namely the Disaster Risk Management Cycle (DRMC), the Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) diagram, the Disaster Risk Management (DRM) Planning diagram, and Project Management Cycle (PMC). Commencing with a quick overview of the Core Humanitarian Standard (CHS), Chris then introduced the DRMC, DRR diagram, DRM Planning diagram, and the PMC. As two case studies, he then applied the DRMC to the 2019/20 Australian bushfires, and a modified version of the DRMC to the current Covid-19 pandemic. Enclosed below is a link to this presentation.
