273-SSD
Chris & Phil Piper are researching and writing a book about their dad’s (‘Pip’ Piper) wartime experiences with the RAF 273 Squadron, flying out of India and Burma. The period covered is May 1944 through to early August 1945. The link to the progress being made can be found at www.torqaid.com/pips-war.
Two documents which are not included in the link above is a summary of the Squadron Secret Diary (SSD), as well as a summary of the Operational Record Books (ORBs). The ORBs cover the above mentioned dates. The SSD, which came to light in 2015, covers the period from the 1 November 1944 through to 20 August 1945.
