A Short Course (SC) program is on offer, this covering five topics. They can be contexualised for a combination of clients, in particular secondary or tertiary students, and humanitarian or development practitioners. The five topics on offer are highlighted below. Sessions can be delivered either as one hour online training sessions, or, social distancing requirements notwithstanding, as one hour face-to-face lessons.
The dates given are for our SC program run from August to October, with each SC topic covering an hour on Zoom.
SC1: Disaster Risk Management (DRM): Four key diagrams (Wed 11th August, 8pm Melbourne time)
SC2: Humanitarian Standards & Codes of Conduct (Tues 24th August, 8pm Melbourne time)
SC3: Covid-19 and risk management (Wed 15th September, 8pm Melbourne time)
SC4: Complex Emergencies/Crises, with an update on the Tigray situation (Wed 29th September, 8pm Melbourne time)
SC5: Climate Change and the road to COP 26 (Wed 20th October, 8pm Melbourne time)
