CBDRM Manual
We’ve recently updated our Community Based Disaster Risk Management (CBDRM) Manual, which is also combined (in the appendix) with some CBDRM Notes. CBDRM is a community level level approach to work with local communities in building up their resilience to severe natural hazards (ie potential disasters), by better understanding; preparing for; responding to; and recovering from such events. Also included is the Disaster Risk Management (DRM) diagrammatic framework, which illustrates how CBDRM fits into local level DRM planning. This manual has largely been developed from fieldwork carried out in Vanuatu, Laos and West Bengal, India.
